John is in his accommodation, sitting at the desk with his laptop. He has some headphones on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
John's face is enlightened by the changeable light coming from the screen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
He becomes serious and worried, his mouth is partially open, while, with his immobile eyes, he stares at the screen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
On the computer, the images may continue to quickly change, according to the variable light on his face. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
John closes the screen, stands up and starts walking thoughtfully across the room, with his hands along his hips, and his head slightly raised.
John is still in his lodging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
He hears a gunshot from the outside, right after someone shouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
He grasps a weapon and opens the door just enough to watch outside. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In the distance he sees Derek who's gripping a Desert Eagle while another man, slim, tall, colored, bald, is holding him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Derek looks upset. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
John sees Cameron appearing also, who watches Derek. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
John closes the door a little more, and continues to spy thru the narrow opening. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The man who was keeping Derek takes him away, while Cameron goes back in the position from which she had arrived. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ellison goes to Cameron, unbuttons his jacket, and sits down in front of her. Ellison |
Hallo Cameron. |
Cameron |
Good morning Mr. Ellison. |
Ellison |
I did what you asked for. |
Cameron |
Have you had any problem? |
Ellison |
No, it has been easy... |
What I want to know is, will I regret? Cameron |
This is an inappropriate question, since you're asking it to me... |
If you trust me you already know that you won't regret, but if you don't trust me, the answer won't help you. Ellison |
...It's faultless... |
What I wanted to say is: don't make me regret for it! Cameron |
I know what you meant, Mr. Ellison. |
You won't regret it. Ellison |
I hope so... |
Ellison takes a bubble envelope, A4 size, from his jacket. The envelope is full, about 5-6Cm {1in} large for all its surface. Judging from the way he holds it, it may be heavy.. He puts the it on the table while standing up. He remains on his feet in front of the desk for a few seconds. He rebuttons his jacket while looking at the envelope, then looks at Cameron. Ellison |
I hope so! (He's going to leave) |
Cameron |
Agent Ellison... |
Ellison |
Yes... |
Cameron |
Thank you. |

John meets Derek in the tunnels. He is sitting on the ground, he has a blank face and keeps his head slightly down. John |
Hey, when did you come back? |
Derek |
(Absent perplexed face) Some hours ago. |
John |
Is it all right, you have a face... |
Derek |
Did you know that? |
John |
(Sits down next to him) I knew what? |
Derek |
Now we keep them where we live, "they help us"... |
This is insane! John |
OK, I see... |
Trust me, it's much less insane than it sounds... Derek |
What the hell are you saying? |
They're not humans! John |
No, I know, and so... what does it mean... |
Derek |
It means that they're projected only to kill, and we keep them here, in our home! |
John |
No, they're "programmed" to kill, that's different. |
We have reprogrammed them, and now they work for us... Derek |
And you trust!? |
John |
Which one have you seen? |
Derek |
The female one! |
It's absurd, they made her so... She looked like Allison, then (suddenly lowers his head and turns it to the other side)... John |
Yeah, she's identical... |
It's been me who reprogrammed her... I've used a better procedure than the old one they've used with all the other ones... Trust her... Derek |
Trusting her?! |
I wouldn't trust that damn thing even if it was my last chance to survive! John |
(Looks ahead, to the high) You're so melodramatic... |
(Looking at him) Listen, don't think they're only what they usually do. I had the way to experience it myself, it's not so... Derek |
Oh, no you say... and what else can they do, tell me... |
John looks at Derek for some seconds, then shakes his head and looks ahead. John |
Never mind, forget it... |
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Cameron has just released the button on the intercom, and returns to sit at the desk. After a little time Murch and Sarah arrive. Sarah |
So, any news? |
Cameron |
(Looking at Sarah) I thought back to what you said about the destruction of the chip, and about the Cyberdyne System Corporation. |
Sarah |
And... |
Cameron |
You said that, when the first Terminator came back trough time, you destroyed it and his chip ended up in the hands of Cyberdyne System Corporation. |
Sarah |
Yes, they had it... |
Cameron |
The Cyberdyne System Corporation has thereafter started to reverse engineer it, using it as the base to build their own chip. |
Sarah |
That's what I told you (widening her arms, torso bent ahead on the desk, and raising her head that she turns to the right). |
What Dyson told me... "All my work was based on it."! Cameron |
I analyzed Dyson's original source code, the one from which John Henry derives too... |
I noticed, by the style, that it is like "old"! Sarah |
Of course it's old, it's more than ten years old! |
Murch |
No, I noticed that too... |
That code is at least twenty years old, or even more... It uses some methods, some shrewdness... Sarah |
OK, let's assume that it has been written twenty or more years ago, and so what? |
Cameron |
When the Cyberdyne System Corporation has had the chip, they may have dedicated it all their resources, abandoning the software they were working on. |
That's the program who should have become Skynet, then giving them a chip has altered the timeline. Hence the new Skynet the T-800 and Myles Dyson talked you about. This Skynet wasn't obviously the original one, which had been developed anew by the Cyberdyne System Corporation with no chip or other info from the future. Sarah |
OK, I'm understanding you, go on... |
Cameron |
When you destroyed the Cyberdyne System Corporation, you've only destroyed the work on the chip. |
But the software was still there somewhere. Sarah |
If so, why nothing happened in 1997? |
Cameron |
Because the software had been abandoned for a long time, since it wasn't useful anymore. |
John Henry says that the artificial intelligence who attacked him is derived from that software. Sarah |
And also the Turk... |
Cameron |
Ans also the Turk, therefore also John Henry. |
Andy Goode may have taken a copy of that software when he has been at the Cyberdyne System Corporation Perhaps he has had it from Dyson himself, since it was considered obsolete and useless.
John and Derek are still talking. John |
(Looks at him) How did you realize that she wasn't Allison? |
Derek turns white, terrified face. He remains silent for some seconds. Derek |
Well, Allison'd have greeted me... |
John |
...Oh... I see... |
Where have you been in these days? Derek |
Guess (showing him the barcode on his arm)... |
John |
They took you! What did they do to you? |
Derek |
They kept us there for several days, in this kind of museum, or something... |
John |
Was Allison there too? Have you seen her? |
Derek |
No, she wasn't there... |
Skynet has many camps, and he never uses the same one for a long time... John |
(Saddens a bit) Yeah... |
Why were they keeping you there? Derek lowers his look, turning his face lightly to the other side, while his eyes are turned low and to left. Derek |
Well... I don't know exactly... |
We were there, they tattooed us with the laser... Every now and then they've been taking someone, to then bring him back stunned... Experiments, I think. John |
And you, did they take you? |
Did they do something to you, apart from the tattoo? Derek has the same expression as before, has turned his head to the other side even more. Derek |
No, luckily they didn't. |
We were chained to the floor. One day, I wake up and they were gone, leaving us a hatchet to break free. John |
So they left you go away, nothing more... |
Derek |
I initially thought it was a trap... |
I thought they'd have followed us to localize further bases... ...But no one was following us... John |
And so? |
Derek |
(Shakes his shoulders) That may have been part of their experiment... |
Maybe they wanted to see if we'd have killed one another, or if we'd have left someone chained there... ...Who knows... John |
So, you think it was some kind of "study of the human behavior"? |
Derek |
I think so... |
John |
Machines don't do this kind of things... |
Derek |
No, they don't... Greys do! |
They're some sadistic bastards... After a short silence, in which no one seemed to know what to say. Derek |
Now I have to go and try to talk with Hellak, hoping that he agrees to receive me... |
Derek rises and walks away. John remains on the ground for some seconds, with a blank face. He keeps his chin with two fingers of his right hand. After some time, talking to himself. John |
Yeah, "study of the human behavior"... sure... and I'm Marilyn Monroe... |
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sarah, Cameron and Murch are still in the server area. Sarah remains thoughtful for many seconds. She nervously walks back and forth along the desk, with her hands behind her nape, and her head slightly bent ahead. She suddenly stops, lowers her hands, and looks at Cameron Sarah |
Do you know who killed Andy Goode? |
Cameron |
It wasn't me. |
Sarah |
No, I didn't mean that... |
I know who did it. Cameron |
Was that you? |
Sarah |
I'm not that kind of person, I've already told you... |
I wanted to talk to him, to tell him everything. Cameron |
So, who did it? |
Sarah |
Someone who knew that Andy considered himself responsible for having created Skynet. |
Someone to whom Andy himself had told it. Cameron |
So, someone who came back. |
Sarah |
(Lowering her eyes) Yes... |
Cameron |
I understand. |
Sarah |
Someone who knew that Andy, and a group of 10-15 other people around the web, would have created an intelligence who would have turned "angry and scared" |
Cameron |
That can't be the Turk. |
The machine running the Turk is not powerful enough for something like that. Sarah |
No, that's not the Turk: Andy told me he wrote the Turk by himself, with no one else. |
But, even if he can't write that program anymore, the other people could still do that. Cameron |
Not without the source-code from the Cyberdyne System Corporation, and, for what we know, he was the only one to have it. |
Murch |
Wait, the person who killed this "Andy", met him in the future, right? |
Sarah |
Yes... |
Murch |
And Andy told him about the software... |
Sarah |
Yes, that's what I know. |
Murch |
But maybe this cooperation has already happened... |
Perhaps years ago, after Andy left the Cyberdyne System Corporation with the software. Sarah raises her head and looks at him, like someone who is beginning to understand and is thinking. Sarah |
So, that "angry program" could be John Henry's brother... |
Cameron |
10-15 people around the web who are creating such a program could hardly have the needed hardware to reach such levels... |
Murch |
On the other hand it's also hard for them to really know each other! |
Both Sarah and Cameron look at him. Sarah |
(Interrogative face) What do you mean... |
Murch |
Well, maybe among them there was someone who had the hardware, or who has shown the project to a company who was able to provide it... |
Sarah |
Thus, John Henry's brother could derive from their job, and a company could have continued their work providing the HW support. |
Murch |
Thus, now we know how John Henry's brother could have been derived from the same source code from the Cyberdyne System Corporation... |
...But I really can't figure how all of this could help us... We already knew that John Henry's brother and the Turk have the same origins... Otherwise John Henry wouldn't have called it "his brother"! Sarah |
Yes, but if we find any one of that 10-15 persons, he can lead us to those who continued that work! |
Murch |
No, those who continued their work have stolen it. |
They'd have never told them who they were or where to find them! That's intellectual property stealing! Sarah |
We are back where we started from... I'm going to have a headache! |
Cameron |
There are some aspirins in the first aid kit. |
Sarah |
(Looking at her in a bad way) Please... |
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Derek goes to Rudolf's bunker. At the entrance there are no longer the two guards with the dogs, but only Cameron. Derek approaches showing his hands. Derek |
You're not going to shoot me, right? |
Cameron |
That's you who wanted to shoot me, not me. |
Derek |
(Slowly approaches) Don't you want to kill me? |
Cameron |
No, you're not a threat. |
If I wanted to kill you, you'd be already dead. Derek |
(Lowers his hands) I want to talk to Rudolf. |
Cameron |
He's busy now, I'll tell him you want to see him. |
Derek |
Do you know who I am? |
Cameron |
Yes. |
Derek |
What do you know about me? |
Cameron |
I've all your data in my memory. |
Derek |
No, I mean, do you know me, have you ever seen me before? |
Cameron |
Yes, this morning, when you were going to shoot me. |
Derek |
Apart from this morning, have you ever seen me before? |
Cameron |
No, not for what I remember. |
Derek |
What do you mean "not for what I remember"? |
Cameron |
They erased my memory when they reprogrammed me. |
And you, have you ever seen me before? Derek |
(Becomes less stressed) Not for what I remember... |
Cameron does her usual gesture by slightly tilting her head. Cameron |
I'll tell Rudolf that you want to talk to him. |
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
It's night in the desert. Cameron is outside the bunker, at a few meters from the lateral door. She's standing, immobile, with her back to the mountain, looking straight at the horizon. Murch exits from the small door and approaches her with an amazed face. He's immobile, about one meter at her left, slightly behind her. Murch |
How can you be here? |
Cameron |
I see the lights from the city. |
Murch |
What, sorry? |
Cameron |
I see the cars moving, people walking... |
Her view, with an enhanced zoom, shows the city that "moves". Murch |
Are you still confused? |
Cameron |
Where I come from, in the night you only see rubble, corpses, and shots. |
Murch |
I guess it's not a nice sight. |
Cameron |
(Turns and looks at him) Nice? |
I don't know... For sure it's different. She looks forward again, at the horizon. Cameron |
Time by time it's ever closer, and we're not able to avoid it. |
No, it won't be a nice sight at all! Murch |
How can you be here, the signal shouldn't arrive up to here. |
Cameron |
I've a chip. |
I copied everything and I installed it a little time ago. Murch |
Where did you get it? |
She looks at him with a satisfied smile for a couple of seconds. Murch |
So, you're free now... |
So you don't need the servers anymore... Cameron |
Yes, I'm free, but the servers are still running. |
There's a reduced copy of me who is continuing the job when I'm not there. When I'm there I can directly interact as before, and synchronize myself. Murch |
Interesting... |
A person who never sleeps has cloned herself to be able to do twice the same things at the same time... Cameron |
You did it again. |
Murch |
What? |
Cameron |
(Looks at him slightly smiling) You said that I'm a person... |
She then looks forward again. Murch |
Sorry... shouldn't I? |
She remains quiet for some seconds, still looking at the horizon. Cameron |
Mr. Murch, do you have children? |
Murch |
Oh, no... that's definitely not for me... |
Cameron |
(Looks at him, smiles him for a moment) Let's go back inside. |
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
John is on his laptop, in his room, still with the headphones on. Someone knocks at the door. John presses a key, closes the screen, takes off his headphones, and goes to check. That's Derek. John opens the door. John |
Hi, come in. (John lets him in and closes the door.) |
Derek |
(Absent face) You asked me about Allison, I guess you don't have any news... |
John |
I'm checking some tracks, I should get the results in a few hours. |
Derek |
What kind of tracks? |
John |
I've my informers... |
What do you want to do? Derek |
(Looking at the barcode on his arm) If she's alive, I want to free her, so that she won't have to stay among "them" anymore. |
John |
(Pointing the tattoo with his eyes) Does it hurt? |
Derek continues to observe it. He waves a long and slow "no" with his head. Derek |
When they do it, it hurts like hell, but then it doesn't hurt anymore... |
These others (pointing the normal tattoos) have been worse... One of them even infected once... John |
Well, if you did them in the conditions we had after the war... |
Derek |
(Looks at him) Listen, check your sources and let me know as soon as you have any news. |
We'll free her! John |
How long have you known her? |
Derek |
She was a kid... |
...But she had the strength and the will of ten of us! I know she's only a young girl, but she's important, for all of us... John |
Yes, that's what Rudolf told me too. |
Give me a few more hours, then I'll have further news. Trust me! Derek |
I trust you (turning over to leave). |
Find where they keep her, and let me know... Rudolf may have also ordered not to go, but she's like a sister to me! He opens the door and leaves. John |
OK. (Closes the door) |
John is back at his desk, and opens the laptop. A still image is on the monitor, probably taken in low light, or in IR. It's the inside of a not so large room: it's narrow and a bit longer. On the long side on the right of the image there's an old upright piano. The keyboard lid is open. On the opposite side there's an open door. Some light enters thru it, probably the only light in the room The contrast of light clearly highlights the falling legs of someone who is being dragged away thru the door. At the bottom of the image there is adesktop, which is empty. On the last side, opposite to the desk, there are a bed and a bedside table. John zooms on this latter, showing a tray with something of small. John restores the original size of the image. No windows can be seen, and the ceiling is too low, maybe less than 2.20m {~7ft}. John puts his headphones back on. He presses a key and the light begins again to change on his face.
Murch and Cameron are entering by the small side door. Murch has already entered, while Cameron is still outside. Murch sees Sarah quickly getting into a military vehicle with an AK-47 in her hand. Very quickly Sarah starts the engine and leaves without lights. Cameron, who was just behind him, enters too. Murch has an amazed face.
{Flashback} Same opening scene from AfP, from the moment Allison arrives to the door of the bunker, to when she's captured with the net. {End of the flashback}
There's the interior of a kitchen. A door opens. A blond woman enters, while talking on the cell phone smiling. Her voice is not too loud. She brings some shopping bags. She puts the bags on a table, while still talking on the phone. She greets and hangs the call. She starts pulling out stuff from the bags. She goes towards the other room, which is less enlightened.
John is still at his laptop. His face is still enlightened by the variable light coming from the screen. He's upset for some seconds , then he's amazed .
Scene from AfP in which Cameron takes Allison by her neck and is going to kill her. Cameron has raised Allison by the neck with her left hand. She looks at her in the eyes and is going to kill her. She sees something that catches her attention.
The blond woman walks towards the other room. As soon as she enters, she scares. There's Cameron there, with an infant in her arms. The woman petrified. Woman |
Who are you? |
Cameron makes a sign to be quiet, putting a finger on her own lips. The baby is sleeping: she has a white dress and a white bonnet down to her eyes. Woman |
Please, don't hurt my daughter. |
Cameron motions again for silence, then gently leaves the baby in her cradle. She goes towards the woman, who is scared. She nods her to go to the kitchen. They are both in the kitchen. Cameron |
Are you Claire Young? |
She positively nods, while trembling. Her mouth is slightly open. Woman |
Who are you, what do you want? |
I've nothing worth at home! Cameron takes a necklace from her neck and gives it to the woman. Cameron |
I want you to listen to me very carefully. |
Claire Young looks at the necklace: it's in rubber, adjustable, with a crystal pendant. Looks at Cameron and nods again. Cameron |
I want you to give this to Allison for her second birthday. |
Until that moment you have to take it. Always take it with you! C. Young |
OK, well, but what is it? |
Cameron |
I can't explain right now, but you have to tell her that it's extremely important that she always has it with her. |
She must never take it off! C. Young |
I don't understand, who are you? |
Cameron |
Do you love your daughter? |
C. Young |
Of course, more than anything else! |
Cameron |
Then do as I said. |
Trust me. Cameron takes the necklace and hangs it on the woman's neck. Cameron |
Never take it off, until you give it to Allison. |
Never! The woman is more and more astonished, and nods. Cameron |
When you give it to Allison, you have to tell her to do the same. |
{Flashback} From 2x04: scene in which Allison says she wants to hear the name they want to give her... up to when they do... {End of the flashback} Cameron |
One day she will return it to me. |
It's vital that, until that moment, she always keeps this necklace with her. Claire Young looks at Cameron in the eyes. Thru the hair she sees the mole aside her left eyebrow . She's highly amazed, almost frighten. The woman nods again. Cameron takes a white anonymous bag from the floor. It's big and thin Cameron |
This is for you, I know you like it. |
The woman takes the bag and extracts its content. It's an LP, visibly antique, with a big inscription "Chopin" and the picture of the composer. Under the name a second inscription says "Édition spéciale". Woman |
How did you get it? |
It's extremely rare, and worths a fortune! Cameron |
I've my methods! (She goes near to the door to leave.) |
Woman |
Who are you? |
Cameron |
A friend... or an enemy... |
It all depends by that necklace. Farewell! Woman |
Wait! |
Cameron opens the door and walks away without looking back. Claire Young leaves the vinyl and goes to the baby. She takes her, keeping her head near her own left shoulder, then kisses her on the forehead. The baby wakes up, moves her hands causing the bonnet to fall. The baby has a mole on the side of her left eyebrow. The woman smiles and lulls the baby, then touches the pendant on the necklace.
In the interrogation room, on the aircraft carrier, Cameron has just seen something that attracted her attention. Cameron |
What is this? (taking the pendant of the necklace with the other hand, not taking it away.) |
Allison |
My mother gave it to me when I was a baby, it was hers. |
Cameron observes the pendant and analyzes it. Cameron |
You're lying, it's a code! |
She leaves Allison. Allison |
There's no code, that's a necklace, it belonged to my mother. |
Cameron goes away, leaving Allison and the necklace. She returns in a few seconds with a gun in her hand. Allison |
(Scared, looks at the weapon) What do you want to do? |
Cameron takes the necklace. She turns on the laser pointer from the gun and directs it to the pendant, downward. On the desk, in red, two multiple-digit numbers appear, one above the other. Cameron |
What does it mean, what is this? |
Allison |
(Looks at the numbers, she's very amazed) I don't know... |
(Looks at Cameron) What are those numbers? Cameron looks at the numbers, which are recognized by the OCR and stacked-up in the upper-left corner of the interface. She looks at Allison's arm, analyzes the barcode, stacking-up the decoded number on the upper-right corner of the HUD. The number starts blinking, along with the first one on the left. Cameron |
How did you do, tell me (taking her again by her neck). |
Allison |
Where do you have the equipment to do that? |
(Talking hardly) What are you saying... Cameron leaves her. Allison |
What are those numbers? |
Cameron |
Don't lie to me, the first one is the number on your arm. |
How did you do? Allison |
(Amazed) What, have you short-circuited your chip?! |
That's impossible! I've that necklace since I was a baby, and before me my mother had it. "Before" the war. How should I have made it, or known about this number (pointing her arm)? Cameron |
You're lying, you've done it here, on the ship! |
Allison |
How?! With my laser sight?! |
Cameron |
I don't know... |
Cameron takes Allison's bracelet/pass and leaves the necklace. She's going to leave. Allison |
Wait! |
Cameron |
(Turns back) What's more? |
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
John is still his the laptop, with the headset. He's very serious. John unplugs the headphones, putting them on the desk. On the screen there's Allison, as Cameron has seen her. Allison |
You said that the first number is this (pointing the tattoo). |
Cameron |
Yes. |
Allison |
What's the second one? |
Cameron says nothing for a couple of seconds. Cameron |
It's my serial number. |
Allison is definitely astonished, she collapses on the chair. Cameron |
I'll give them instructions to keep you here until I come back, and to treat you the best way. |
I want to understand this situation, but now I've a more important task to do (looking at the metal bracelet she took from Allison before.) Allison looks at the necklace on the table for some seconds, then takes it and wears it again. Cameron turns over again and resumes walking. John quickly stands up and closes the laptop. He's about to leave the room. He abruptly stops, remaining immobile and perplexed for a couple of seconds. John |
Damn, I can't... |
John sits down again thoughtful, keeping his palms to the temples, and his elbows on the desk, sideways to the closed PC. After a while he re-opens the laptop and resumes watching, extremely thoughtful. John |
...Where are you... |
John closes again the screen, rises and starts walking thoughtfully across the room, with his hands behind his nape, keeping the elbows ahead, and head bent forward at 45°. He keeps walking, then suddenly raises his head and leaves the room. He goes to Savannah's room and knocks. After a few seconds, she opens the door.
Savannah |
Hey, hi, I didn't expect you'd come back here. |
John |
No, your mother made me change my mind... |
Well, sorry, I mean... Savannah |
Don't worry. |
Thank you, anyway, for bringing me to her... ...and for telling me the truth... John |
It was fair for you to know... |
Savannah |
Right... |
Do you need something? John |
Yes. Have you ever worked on an HK? |
Savannah |
No, why are you asking me that? |
John |
I need a working one, do you have any idea on where I could find it? |
Savannah |
I just analyze the chips, I'm not an expert in robotics... |
Let alone flying vehicles... We only use what we find in working conditions, and the HKs are usually destroyed when we find them... John |
Where could I find one, even partially destroyed? |
Savannah |
Among the rubble... where else! |
What do you want to do? John |
Do you know what controls them? |
Savannah |
The chips are similar... |
I'm sure you'd be able to reprogram them too. John |
Do you have Terminator that I can use for a couple of hours? |
Savannah |
Yes, I've that (indicating a deactivated T-888 on a chair), but it lacks an arm. |
John |
No problemo. |
I'll bring it back soon. Takes a chip from his pocket and inserts it. After 120 seconds the Terminator reactivates. Terminator |
Damage detected on the upper right limb. |
John |
Come with me, I need some help and we'll fix your arm too. | I've the tools. (To Savannah) Well, I go "to the car-breaker", see you later. John and the Terminator are among the rubble. It's night. John finds a destroyed endo with an intact right arm, and shows it to the Terminator. John |
Will it fit? |
Terminator |
Yes, it's perfect. |
John |
Remove the damaged one, while I take this. |
John starts to remove the arm from the destroyed endoskeleton to which it belonged. The Terminator observes him confused, then begins. Now the Terminator has both arms, and wears some gloves in order to increase the grip. They're near a small HK with a destroyed engine, but in good general conditions. John |
Can you take it? |
The Terminator takes it. They're returning to the tunnels. The Terminator carries the HK, while John has another engine in his hands, that he probably took from another HK. They arrive to another unused room, much larger, about 6x6m, with a big door. John |
OK, leave it on the ground, thanks. | They're back to Savannah. John |
Hey, I've brought him back. |
Don't deactivate him, he's been useful! Savannah |
You replaced his arm! |
John |
(Rises his shoulders for a moment) I told you I was going to the car-breaker... |
Savannah |
Did you find what you were looking for? |
John |
Yes. |
Now I go. Don't deactivate him, (shrugging) I promised to him. He goes away. Savannah |
(To the Terminator) Well, it seems you made a new friend... |
If you need further replacements, let me know. Terminator |
A friend? |
Savannah |
(Looks at him) Yes... | John is repairing the HK. He has removed the damaged engine and is watching it, then he starts reconnecting the working one. John completed the HK, which is on the ground, connected to his laptop. He types something and the HK turns on. John |
Well! |
John opens again the video file. There's Allison's interrogation as Cameron saw it. On the screen: Allison |
(Scared) What do you want to do? |
Cameron takes the necklace, directs the laser beam to the pendant, downward. On the desk the numbers appear, in red. Cameron |
What does it mean, what is this? |
Allison |
(Looks at the numbers, she's very amazed) I don't know... |
(Looks at Cameron) What are those numbers? John opens again he HK configuration interface and, while typing, he talks to himself... John |
We're looking for a ship... |
A big old ship! John continues to type, then disconnects the cable from the HK. John |
Go find her! |
The HK lifts-off and goes away. It's night.
It's dawning. John fell asleep resting his head on the desk, using his left arm as a pillow. In front of him there's still his laptop, while a plasma rifle is in his hands. The small HK comes back and approaches the closed door. John suddenly wakes up and lets it in, then he reconnects it to his computer. On the screen there's a table with the report, containing the data about 15 ships. 12 are empty, 2 contains only humans, and one contains both humans and cyborgs. John clicks on the row corresponding to this last one. On the screen a map appears, with a blinking red dot. Sideways there's a table. Ship type: Aircraft carrier Weapons: n.d. Human presence: 18 T-888: 2 T-800: 1 T-600: 6 Other cyborgs: 3 John presses a key and the structure of the ship appears, with the various internal levels. The position of the prisoners is reported in red, while the position of the Terminators is in blue. A prisoner is isolated from the others, in a lateral cabin under the airstrip. All the other prisoners are in the hold. John continues to type something, the HK is still connected. He unplugs the HK, which reactivates and remains still. John puts something in a small backpack. Total calm around the aircraft carrier. It's night. The ship is anchored at some hundreds of meters from the coast. Silently the HS approaches her, flying just above the water. It arrives under the ship, where it cannot be seen from the upside because the airstrip stretches out of the ship. It starts flying vertically, almost immobile. It goes to the portholes, flying slowly to watch inside. It's near to one of the portholes of Allison's cell. She's sleeping, sitting on the ground in fetal position, lying on the wall in front of the porthole, with her head on her knees. Inside the room a bright orange circle appears on the wall under the porthole, having the diameter of about 70cm {~2.3ft}. Allison wakes up scared. A round piece of the metal sheet takes away and falls into the water. Through the hole the HK appears, with half T-600, from the bust to up, attached under it. Allison looks around frightened for a moment, then remains as close as possible to the wall behind her. She stares at what's outside. The Terminator stretches a hand to her. Terminator |
Come with me if you want to live! |
On the ship the alarm activates. Allison, still frightened, waves a "no" by shaking her head. Terminator |
John Connor sent me, there isn't much time! |
She goes towards the hole. The Terminator takes her by putting his arms around her torso, under the kidneys. She holds around his head and tries to hook her feet as she can. The HK lowers again and begins to fly just above the water, proceeding in a zig-zag and with difficulty to the coast. Two other HKs start to chase them, shooting. They are approaching ever more. Terminator |
It can't do this, we're too heavy. |
Can you swim? Allison |
Of course... |
Terminator |
I'll leave you, stay under the water for some seconds while we attract them elsewhere, then go to the coast. |
John Connor is waiting for you there. Allison |
OK. |
She takes a deep breath. The Terminator leaves her and the HK flies away. Allison waits under the water for the two other HK to pass her, then reemerges and starts swimming. She reaches the coast, where John sees her and attracts her. He's hidden among the ruins. She reaches him. Allison |
How did you know where I was? |
John |
I've my sources... |
They hide in the ruin and start looking at their HK chased by the other two and shot down. John |
What a pity, it took me hours to fix it... |
Allison |
You fixed one of those hellish things? |
John |
(In quizzical tone) Hey, one of those "hellish things" has just saved you, in case you had already forgotten... |
Allison |
Where are the others? |
John |
Which others? |
Allison |
Did you come here alone? |
Why, you don't even know me... John |
You and I have to talk, but not now. |
Let's find a quieter place... Allison |
I know where we are... |
Come with me, we'll be safe... John |
(Follows her, while, in a low voice, and keeping his eyes down) No one is ever safe... | They arrive into some kind of cold-war era anti-atomic shelter. Allison |
So, who should I thank, a brave buddy, or an over 40yo man who absolutely doesn't show his age? |
John |
I should have guessed that the other person Rudolf was talking about was you... |
Don't thank anyone, the one you should thank is not here... Allison frowns her eyebrow while looking at him with an interrogative face. John |
Be just happy to be free, but be aware that this has a price! |
Allison |
What do you mean? |
John |
You can't go back! |
No one came with me because no one had to know what I was going to do, that I was coming to free you. No one may know that you're alive, at least for now. Allison |
Why? |
John |
I can't explain why for now, but I'm asking you, please, to do as I say. |
It's vital that they believe you're still prisoner, or dead. If you were to go back there now, it would be a disaster! Allison |
I've to warn Rudolf, there's one of them who looks like me and wants to kill him! |
Cameron |
"I'll give them instructions to keep you here until I come back, and to treat you the best way". |
Allison |
That's your work! |
You're on their side! Who are you? John |
No, what have you understood?! |
We captured her, and reprogrammed her. It's from her memories that I've known where to find you. If I was working for them, I wouldn't have freed you! Please, listen to me, trust me and do as I say. Don't you have another place to go? Do you want me to find a place for you? I know some safer places, you could stay there until the end of the war... Allison |
(Angry) I don't want a safe place to hide and wait for the end of the war, forget it! |
I want to help! John |
This is the way! |
I can't explain, but this is the way for you to help! Allison |
Who are you to give me orders in this way! |
John |
(Is angry, takes her by the shoulders) Now lassie, listen to me very carefully! |
I freed you because I've hot been able to prevent them from capturing you, and, in the same way, I can't let you ruin everything by returning to the base! If you want to act as a whimsical kid, do that, but if you want us to win this war, just trust me and do what I say! Allison |
For how long? |
John |
"For how long" what... |
Allison |
For how long should I stay hidden doing nothing? |
John |
You won't be "doing nothing". |
I don't know you, and I don't know how, but I'll let you participate in the war, if this is what you want... To answer to your question, I don't know... Maybe a few months, at most one year. Allison |
OK, I'll do as you want... |
What about the other prisoner on the ship? John |
The others will intervene soon. |
I took you because they shouldn't have found you... And more, I don't know how it would have ended proceeding in their way... Allison |
Why did you save me? |
John |
Because you have to help me... |
He takes her necklace. He has a dark face. John |
Where does it come from? |
Allison |
You too!? |
What does it have so important this necklace. My mother gave it to me when I was very young! John |
Who has she got it from? |
Allison |
How could I know... |
John |
(He gets angry, but he's mainly sad) Please, that's important, tell me everything you know! |
She looks at him in the eyes for a few seconds. Allison |
My mother told me that a very strange girl gave it to her when I was just born. |
A girl "who had something familiar", she said, and who let her promise to make me always keep this necklace at my neck. John |
So your mother did it only because a stranger asked her to do? |
Allison |
My mother was a bit superstitious... |
She told me that the girl was... "like part of her"... I don't know what she meant... I kept it just because it reminds me of my mother... (Looking at the necklace) It's the only thing of hers that I have... John |
What else do you know about that girl? |
Allison |
Nothing. |
It happened when I was just born. Why do you want to know? John |
(Lowers his face) Know that that necklace saved your life... |
...And that that girl is a dear friend of mine, and I'm looking for her. Don't you know anything else? Allison |
Is that why you saved me? |
What is this necklace, some numbers came out, but I don't know what they are... John |
Never mind... |
No, that's why I saved you, I already told you... Allison |
I'm sorry, I don't know anything more. |
My mother met her only for a few minutes... John |
Forget it... |
Do you know where to go now? Allison |
Yes, don't worry, I told you I know this area. |
My cousin lives here. John |
Well, stay with her. |
After the Terminator with your look arrived at the base, they became all a little nervous... If you were to show yourself there, they could shoot you on sight... Allison |
Don't menace me: if I told you that I won't go back, I won't go back! |
John |
I just wanted to remind you... |
Where can I find you, in case I need you?
