John is at the table, he's assembling a board on which are connected 16 chips, arranged in a circle around a 17Th one.
The board is connected to his laptop and to a power supply.
John keeps typing something on the computer, while various LEDs continue to change their status on the board.
Catherine comes close to him.
John	It's perfect: 16 artificial intelligences, each one instructed to perform a different attack, all coordinated by a seventeenth one. We could have entered the main server at the CIS with much less!
Catherine	How do we know that it will work?
John	We'll know soon. Let's go down!
They go by John Henry.
John	I completed it: 16 chips on star bus plus another one as the coordinator.
John H.	I didn't expect that it would have taken you so little, you're efficient!
John	Thank you. How are we doing here?
John H.	I found 35 vulnerabilities, more or less serious, in addition to the one which will allow us to slow down his mutations.
John	Good, save the status of the simulation, clean the machine, and let the virus run on it in a real environment. After having disconnected it from the backup unit, of course. Meanwhile give me the details of the 16 most severe vulnerabilities you've identified, so that I can instruct the chips.
John H.	I've already saved them, take this (giving him an USB stick).
John	OK, I go to insert the data and come back, while you proceed here. Maximum caution!

Cameron is carrying some bags in a car.
Sarah arrives and Cameron readily closes.
Sarah	What are you doing?
Cameron	Routine check.
Sarah	What about your researches?
Cameron	The server is elaborating a strategy studying again the virus, I'll have a response later.
Sarah	Well... (Rising her neck to look inside the car) well...
Observed from her height the car appears empty.

Ellison arrives with Savannah.
Ellison	I have to take her to the dentist for a check-up.
Sarah	(To Cameron) Can you go with them, I'd feel safer.
Cameron	No, I have a trace to follow.
Sarah	You'll need the car, I guess.
Cameron	Yes.
Sarah	(To Ellison) I'm coming with you, it seems I'll need a ride.

John is by John Henry, with the strange board and his laptop.
Now the board is also connected to the server.
John H.	The virus working in a non-simulated environment, it's using the server at 62%
John	Excellent, this means that it doesn't need additional power, and therefore we're not limiting it! I'll proceed with only 8 vulnerabilities, the second 8 from your list (typing something on the laptop). OK (strikes Enter).
On the images from the video projector the graph of server usage raises quickly up to 88%.
John H.	(Looks at the projection) It's locked. (Looks at John) It worked.
John	(Very satisfied look) Excellent! We used only 8 vulnerabilities, and not the most critical ones. I did not even have to slow down his mutations, and the computing power of our server hasn't limited him. Against Skynet we'll simultaneously use 16 vulnerabilities, and we'll slow down his mutations!
Catherine	So?
Terry	It is as if a small atomic bomb had destroyed this system, but we also had some huge hydrogen bombs to use against Skynet!
John	We got Skynet by the balls now!
John H.	How will we launch the attack? He will never let us connect long enough to destroy him.
John	We'll set him an ambush: it will be him to come to us!
Catherine	Explain...
John	I'll build another of these (pointing the board), with just 2 chips, and I'll program it to attack minor vulnerabilities. Then we'll launch the attack via satellite.
John H.	He'll want to know who did it, and he'll try to attack us himself, as he did to me in the Zeira.
John	But at that point there will be this waiting for him (putting a hand on the board)! I'll need a transmitting dish and the nuclear batteries from a Terminator. We need to bring everything we need away from here, in a place where they can't physically attack us.
Catherine	Your mother was right to want to defend you at all costs: you're going to save the human race... Even if not in the way and at the times she thought...
John	I'll think about them later...
Catherine has an interrogative face for a couple of seconds.

Ellison, Sarah and Savannah leave with Ellison's car.
As soon as they're out of sight Cameron goes down by Murch.
Cameron	They went away, we must do that before they come back.
Murch	I'm ready (touching his bag).

They're near the car. Cameron puts a hand thru a window and picks-up a rifle.
Cameron	Do you know what this is?
Murch	Well, a rifle.
Cameron	Saiga 12-gauge automatic, double stack box magazine modified for 20 rounds, single-body shaped-charge explosive bullets, anti-tank. (Moving the safety leverage) On the upper position it doesn't fire, in this way it's in full automatic, in this other in single shot, semi-automatic mode. (She hands it to him) Always remember to fix it on the shoulder well, before firing.
Murch	Hey, are we going to assault a bank?
Cameron	It's better to be always prudent. In case we need it.
Murch	You're always ready for everything, aren't you...
Cameron	(Pleased smiles to him) In the car there are also two commercial rifles cal. 7.62x51 NATO, Kalashnikov-derived, modified for fully-automatic firing. Function the same as the Saiga, with drum magazines of 60 rounds, and bullets with tungsten tip. The grenade launcher is not for you, you would dislocate a shoulder.
Murch	OK... but shouldn't we just be going to take the goods and come back?
Cameron	Yes, but then we'll load them with standard bullets and I want you to learn to use them: sooner or later you have to do that.
Murch	Yes... I prefer not to think about that...
Cameron	Let's go, I've already taken the radio jammers. I'll drive, close everything please.

John is outside the mountain, he climbed up to about 5-6 meters and is sitting immobile, scanning the horizon.
Terry comes out of the mountain and looks around.
He sees her but doesn't do or says anything. He looks at her, he's curious.
Terry is going to turn around the mountain, where he wouldn't have been able to see her anymore.
He takes some small stones and launches them behind her.
She turns over and looks up.
John waves his arm and she sees him.
Terry	What are you doing there.
John	(Shakes his shoulders) Nothing, I'm looking the scenery.
Terry	(Begins to climb too) Do you see fine?
John	Nothing! This is the beauty, there's nothing around here.
Terry	(Has reached him and sits next to him) I thought you didn't like lonely places, or sceneries...
John	(Still looking at the horizon) No, when I say "nothing" I mean "no ruins", "no war"... "no corpses",... However it's not so... ...it's not true that I don't like lonely places...
Terry	You're one of those...
John	(Waves something strange with his head, looking at her) "Of those" who?
Terry	You know, I've heard many times someone, someone born years before the war, telling to have spent a night alone, or in small groups, in places like cemeteries, or something...
John	It's a bit macabre... or maybe it's just a way to win one's fears and exorcize the death... No, I'm not one of them... but I've always been alone... (Looks at her for a couple of seconds) I grew up alone...
Terry	Sometimes it helps to think... Sometimes it helps to forget... And you, what were you doing?
John	I was thinking about what you said, about avoiding the new Dark Age... (After some seconds) I've met many of them, and mainly I trust them...
Terry	But...
John	You know, I've never had a father... ...when I was a kid this was a bit a problem to me. My mother has been with various men, ever since I was born... Good persons... (Smiles for a second, looking his hands) Well, maybe some of them were a bit exalted... ...but no one has ever really loved me as a son...
Terry	Well, not all men can act as a father, regardless of being it or not...
John	When I was a kid there has been one who, for a few days, listened to me... He didn't understand that much, but he put all his effort to try his best... My mother told me to have thought that he was the closest thing to a father she could have ever found for me... ...Although, since his behavior, he was more like a younger brother, than a father, to me... Anyway, told by her, it's really meaningful, since, in the beginning, she wanted to kill him!
Terry	Why, what was so strange with this man, who did not understand a lot? Why did she want to kill him?
John	My mother, the person who more than anyone else taught me the hate... Has been able to respect him!
Terry	Why shouldn't she?
John	(Looks at her with a strange smile) He was a T-800...
Terry	What?
John	(Looks forward again) When he arrived he was too awkward... Then we found out that he was in read-only mode, that he couldn't learn... Once removed the write-protection, he started to change, to learn... I remember I cried when he went away...
Terry	I understand...
John	I've known them since I was a kid... I know I can trust them, if they don't have the "factory settings" anymore...
Terry	But?
John	But I'm not sure I can say the same about most humans... (Looks at her) we can even win this war... but I don't know if we can persuade the other humans to listen to us...
Terry	They will have to do that. Those who will not want to do, will be free to go away... Sooner or later, who trusted us will attract back those who haven't... Or their sons. We don't need to persuade them all, we only need not to be alone.
John	Mass psychology?
Terry	No, hope.
John	Well, so let's "hope"... and let's do what we need, one step at a time!
Terry	Is it all ready for tomorrow?
John	More than ready, we only need a place.

Murch and Cameron arrive to the same warehouse where the pieces for the server arrived.
There's another guard, about 40yo, strong.
He's immobile on his chair, in the booth, looking outside.
Cameron observes everything very carefully from the distance, before approaching.
They arrive there, but don't enter with the car.
Cameron gets out of the car carrying some papers.
She goes towards the guard, but stops.
Cameron is using her skills {HUD} to analyze the cabin and the guard. His face is not in her memory.
While she approaches the guard hints a smile.
Cameron	Morning, I have to pick a van (continues to approach and puts the papers on the shelf in front of the guard).
The guard professes to take the sheets, then catches Cameron from the hands and pulls her inside.
The cabin is dismantled with Cameron coming out flying, thrown away of about 4-5 meters.
Cameron	(To Murch) Run away!
Murch takes two rifles from the car, puts one on his back, and runs towards Cameron with the other one in his hands.
The guard goes by Cameron, who has raised.
He seizes her, but she frees herself and grabs him, throwing him away.
Cameron	(To Murch) What are you doing, go away!
Murch aims the AK-47 to the Guard and pulls the trigger.
The rifle doesn't shoot.
Murch checks the magazine, which is correctly in its place.
Cameron goes to him and takes the weapon from his hands.
She moves back the shutter to put a round in the barrel and is going to shoot, but the guard takes her and throws her away.
Murch, having observed what Cameron has just done, takes the Saiga from his back and loads it.
He shots a round, hitting the trunk of the guard, who falls to the ground.
The strong recoil causes Murch to lose control of the weapon, that goes in his face. He falls on his back.
The guard rises again.
Cameron recovers the AK-47 and starts firing in semi-automatic mode, aiming for the head.
The bullets cause damage, but don't stop the guard.
Cameron	(To Murch) Go away, what are you doing here!
She keeps shooting, but the guard disarms her again.
Murch rises, grips his rifle better, and shots some other rounds, all to the target.
A shot removes the head of the guard, throwing it away.
The body still moves, but blindly.
Cameron kicks it away and goes towards the head.
She takes it and opens the chip bay. The chip catches fire.

John is at the upper floor of the bunker, with Catherine.
John	Do we have everything?
Catherine	The dish is oversized, the nuclear batteries are more than enough, and I've found a safe place.
John	Well.
Catherine	We'll do it tomorrow night, before the sunrise, when Skynet is busy processing the data from the night raids.

Cameron returns near to Murch with the head of the guard in her hands.
She has a serious face.
Cameron	When I tell you to go, you go!
Murch	What? No! I could have never just left you there and gone away, forget it!
Cameron	You risked your life.
Murch	Well, and so did you! I was the one who had the weapons, you were disarmed, and for what I saw your strength wasn't enough. "I had" to help you! Do you think it's so absurd?
Cameron	You can't risk your life to save me, I'm just
Murch	(Interrupts her) Don't say that, or I swear that I'll slap you! (Takes her chin) "Don't" even think that!
Cameron	You can't risk your life in this way...
Murch	If it were me the one in danger, would you have helped me?
Cameron	Yes, but
Murch	There's no "but"! I had the weapons, I could help you... I "had" to help you! There's nothing to explain, or to understand... That's what friends do!
Cameron	Usually, when it happened some other times, the others, the other humans, went away...
Murch	What?!? I don't even want to know that, I don't...
He looks at her astonished for a few seconds.
Murch	How is it possible?!
Cameron	It's normal, (slightly low eyes) I'm who I am...
Murch	And what the hell does it mean? Not even you are immortal! It doesn't matter who you are, if you're in trouble you have to be helped!
Cameron	I can't let you risk your life in this way, never do it again.
Murch	Don't tell me what to do or not to do, and above all, don't tell me to leave a friend in trouble and to go away, as if nothing was going on, thinking only to myself. I'm not that kind of person!
Cameron	Mr. Murch?
Murch	Yes...
Cameron	(Slightly low eyes) Thank you...
Murch	(Smiles to her) And for what!? How are you, by the way?
Cameron runs a general self-test.
The HUD shows the result: integrity 100%.
Cameron	It's all right, no damages.
Murch	Excellent!
Cameron	(Hinting a smile) You're not bad at all (pointing the rifle in Murch's hands with her eyes), you learn fast!
Murch	Well, it's all about understanding how the weapon acts when it fires... (Touching his right shoulder) And it kicks!
Cameron	In the cabin there's a fridge, put something cold on it.
Murch	It seems you were expecting this... how did you know?
Cameron	You used Ms. Weaver's account: Skynet wants her dead!
Murch	Let's hope he has not damaged anything...
Cameron	I'll check, you stay away this time!

John is in his dormitory, but he's not sleeping.
He's thoughtful on his bed, motionless in his usual position with his hands behind his nape.

Catherine goes by John, who is on the canteen floor, at a table, checking something with his PC. The small board connected.
Catherine	Is everything ready?
John	Yes, the lure is ready. Is it far?
Catherine	Of course! We'll launch the attack from a hillock at about 20Km {>12miles} from here, I've already aligned the dish. We'll have visibility for miles! (Going to a sheet on the ground) And we'll have our guardian from the top! (She lifts the sheet)
John	That's the drone from Kaliba!? How did you get it?
Catherine	It has always been here, your mother took it years ago and has kept it here.
John	And what did she do with that?
Catherine	Nothing! It'd have been very dangerous to use it then!
John	What do you mean?
Catherine	Kaliba had good engineers... This prototype, built almost 20 years ago, is more advanced than the HKs Skynet uses nowadays. If it had fallen into Skynet's hands, he could have copied its technology, and who knows what level he would be now! I installed it a chip, to make it autonomous, some nuclear batteries, and I harmed it with some plasma rifles.
John	Well, let's start going: I don't want unexpected surprises...
Catherine	OK.

Sarah and Ellison are in the waiting room of the dentist, sitting opposite one another.
She is quite irrecognizable, as every time she's not in the bunker.
He is thoughtful, keeps his head down.
They're alone.
Ellison	Listen, I won't come back.
Sarah	What do you mean you won't come back?
Ellison	I've been thinking about it a lot... I won't come back with you to the bunker, it makes no sense.
Sarah	What do you want to do, they know who you are!
Ellison	Ms. Weaver left me precise instructions, with some alternatives for Savannah. One of them was to stay with all of you, but the bunker is not a good place for her.

Ellison	Actually, there are safer ones... more distant ones...
Sarah	Like Scotland? Do you think it won't be nuked too?

She turns over and walks away.

John, Terry, John Henry and Catherine are on the hillock.
John is installing all, and John Henry observes him.
Catherine and Terry are inspecting the horizon using some very performing visors.
They are all well armed, and there are two cars ready for a possible escape, engines running.
Kaliba's drone is some tens of meters above their heads, constantly patrolling the area.
John H.	Excellent, everything is ready here, and the signal is very strong.
John is sitting on the ground in front of his laptop, with both the boards connected
John	In 30 seconds I'll launch the signal and I'll activate the lure.
Catherine	(Still gazing around) Proceed.
John	(Types something) We're on-line. From now on, keep your eyes on the horizon.
Terry	OK!
John	Now I launch the fake attack.
He types something, then he looks at the screen for a few seconds.
John	Excellent, he's localizing us.
John H.	He's trying to destroy us. He's increasing the bandwidth. Once it stabilizes, launch the real attack.
John	I'm ready!
On the screen there's a chart showing the bandwidth that continues to rise.
After some time it stabilizes.
John	Come here baby, take this (while he continues to type)... 16 attacks running, the bandwidth is stable!
John H.	Avoid him to change.
John	(Types) Done... We're inside, he's locked!
Terry	Did you destroy Skynet?
John	No, for now I've only crashed him... I have to destroy him by injecting a virus which will delete him definitively.
John H.	What's happened?
John	I don't know, he kicked me out... He screwed us... (He rises angry) Nooo, we had almost done!!!

Cameron checks under the van, then breaks a window and enters thru it, not opening the door.
She continues to check, inside and outside.
Cameron	It seems clean. (She opens the back and meticulously checks the goods.)
Murch	So?
Cameron	It's all right. He wanted Ms. Weaver, not the goods. They may have traced the account.
Murch	Are you sure there isn't, I don't know, a bomb?
Cameron	I've checked the wiring {electrical system?}. As a precaution, we'll take another van. I'll do that, you stay here on guard.
Cameron goes away, while Murch remains on guard.

Cameron returns back with a bigger van and parks it alongside the first one.
She starts moving goods, checking each piece with the bugs detector, and carefully watching every single part.
Cameron	There's a bug. He wanted to find Ms. Weaver, he knew she wouldn't have come personally to take the goods.
Murch	So there should be another one?
Cameron	No, that would make no sense, he'd have been enough.
Murch	Why did he attack you?
Cameron	Because he recognized me. He was here to check who'd have taken the van, to be sure that everything was fine. When he saw me, he attacked me.
Cameron keeps moving the goods, checking them piece by piece.
At the end she carries the body of the Terminator too and closes the van.
Cameron	We can go.
Murch	We'll use the jammer anyway, you never know.

John H.	Look at there (pointing the computer).
On the screen a terminal window opens:

Cameron and Murch are in the bunker, they have already moved everything to the server floor, in another empty area.
Murch	I'm sorry, I shouldn't have used that account, I didn't know.
Cameron	Don't worry, at least now Skynet thinks Ms. Weaver is still here. Since he has sent just a single Terminator, who was waiting for us disarmed, it means that he doesn't know who she is... He wouldn't have lasted longer against her.
Murch	Well, at least some good news... Who is really Ms. Weaver?
Cameron	You did not even notice that she had changed, did you? You worked for her, but you did not notice anything.
Murch	Of course I noticed, but I thought it was because of the accident and the loss of her husband... And more, how could I have thought to something like that?!
Cameron	Ms. Weaver is a T-1001, a highly advanced prototype of Terminator.
Murch	Advanced prototype... I understand less and less (settling his glasses)...
Cameron	When did you learn to shoot? It wasn't the first time, right?
Murch	No, my uncle took me out hunting some times, years ago... But that beast you gave me... wow!
Cameron	The Saiga is derived from the AK-47, the most widely used assault rifle in the world. I chose them for today because they are easy to use and extremely reliable. Also, being similar to use, you could have easily switched from one to another. Anyway, next time think to your life, don't do stupid things.
Murch	I'll try to remember it... but I can't promise you anything. (Pointing the stuff) Can we proceed?
Cameron	Yes.

Terry	(Looks at the screen of the laptop) What does it mean?
John	It means that we've eliminated the virus and that the original program has just been restarted.
Terry	And now?
John	Now I launch a complete cleanup, to wipe-off every backup the virus could have created of himself.
John continues to type commands.
John	Then I'll stop any raid in progress: I can't control the single Terminators from there, but I can control the operative bases. (Rises) My friends, the Skynet we knew seems to have been destroyed. We did it!
Terry	You're a genius!
John	Unluckily this has not yet stopped the war... All the Terminator and the HKs have their original missions, and must be stopped!
Catherine	You don't have to worry about this. I'll take care to stop the Terminators, we have already drawn up a plan.
John	We?
Catherine	I told you, I'm not alone... I'm part of a group of very well organized deserters. Even you asked us to join you...
John	(Perplexed face) I'm not understanding, but I trust you... You don't want to destroy them, right?
Catherine	(Rising her left eyebrow) Obviously I don't! But I'm glad that you asked me that.
