John goes towards Derek, which seats on the ground while eating something strange.
He's standing next to Derek, and looks at him.
John	(Indicating the ground, beside Derek) Can I?
Derek waves him to sit, and John sits down.
Derek takes a bar of a military food from a pocket and gives it to John.
John	(Takes it) What is this?
Derek	Don't ask questions whose answers you might not like... ...and eat. So, what's your impression about Rudolf?
John	You're right, physically he doesn't look like a military leader... But how he is, as a person... how he lives... He is exactly as I figured him.
Derek	I've known him for years, he has not always been as he's now.. The war changed us all, who the more, who the less...
John	Him the more?
Derek	He was a sociable person. When people around you keep dying... When those who you consider your friends continue to go, day by day... You could be tempted not to want to see anyone anymore.

John opens the stick and begins to eat it.

It's morning in the bunker, and the heavy door is open, letting the external light to enter.
Sarah and Murch are near a car, he has is laptop and a backpack with him.
Sarah has bound her hair, wears a military hat, and some sunglasses. She's unrecognizable enough.
There's also Ellison, not elegantly dressed: running suit and dark glasses.
He approaches Sarah, taking her aside.
Ellison	Yesterday Savannah asked me about her mother... Ms. Weaver is officially in Japan for business... but I don't know, what should I tell her?
Sarah	For sure not that her mother is death we don't know how long ago, and that she has lived with a Terminator... Tell her she is traveling for work.
Ellison	(Slightly low eyes) OK... I'll close everything and come with you: I want to take my car.
Sarah and Murch get into the car, Sarah drives, while Ellison walks to the outside.
The car exits the mountain and Ellison closes all, then gets aboard, on the rear seat.
They leave.
Sarah	Did you take everything?
Murch	Yes, everything is ready. Go to a non inherent place, in the suburbs.
Sarah	OK.

They are in the traffic, somewhere in some suburb.
Murch has his computer on his lap.
Murch	(Looking at the screen) Enter into an alley, here is good.
She turns to the right, to an alley, and stops.
Ellison	I will glance around while you're here, then I'll proceed by feet to my car. It's in a safe place, not connected to me or Weaver.
He gets out of the car and begins to discreetly look around, while slowly walking away.
Murch	Perfect. (Types something, strikes Enter) (After a few seconds, with a satisfied face) Excellent!
Sarah	What is so "excellent"?
Murch	I hacked into a private WiFi, so if they tried to track us, they'd arrive to... I don't know who.
Sarah	I'm not well understanding... but do what you have...

They leave, hailing Ellison, who goes away by feet.

In the tunnels someone screams: "HK!"
General agitation, soldiers take their weapons and spy outside, remaining hidden.
There are two Hunter-Killers, patrolling, outside.
Total silence in the tunnels.
Kyle nods John to be quiet and to stay down.
Walking down, he proceeds along the tunnel, followed by two other men.
John follows them too, remaining down.
They arrive to a post with a mini-Gatling, but they don't use it.
They keep watching outside, trying not to be seen.
Kyle	(With a low voice) Stay down, if they attack us we'll need to shoot them down them before they can communicate our position.
All nod a "yes" with their heads.
The HKs continue to patrol, slowly leaving the area.

Sarah is still in the car with Murch, still in the town.
Murch	That's it. Hey, you passed it!
Sarah	I know, let me do it my way.
Sarah tours around the building, scanning around.
She parks on the back and gets out of the car, gripping a gun, arms down.
Sarah	Let's go.
They enter from the back. All is calm.
Murch's home is relatively disordered... a typical home for a single...
Sarah	Take all what you need, quickly, we won't come here again.
Murch	OK. (Takes a big bag and begins to put things inside it.) (The bag is almost full, he closes it) We can go.

Sarah	(Exits first, watching around) Move on. (She takes the bag from his hands) You drive, don't take busy streets and don't go directly there!
Murch	OK...
They are back in the car, Sarah glances around.
They leave.

They stopped at a red light.
In a trash near the car, a man drops a newspaper with a big photo of Sarah.
She stretches her arm and takes it.
Sarah	"Sarah Connor fugitive again thanks to a technical problem!" "Mysterious mass escape from the jail yesterday: the automated control system of the prison, went bad opening all the doors." "The police has no clues, since the crazy system also deleted all the surveillance videos." Murch	It blocks any kind of radio transmission, in a wide spectrum... Bugs, cell phones, remote-controls... We will use it in case they put a localizer on the goods. That's not all...
Sarah	(Switches off the jammer and takes another box) "Programmable GPS simulator"... (Looking at him and raising an eyebrow) What's with you, have you watched too many 007?!
Murch	That's a really good device. You set some coordinates, and it sends fake GPS signals to trick receivers near to it, letting them think they are in that place. It's even possible to insert a route, and it will simulate the street, so that the receiver will believe to be actually traveling that route.
Sarah	This is not stuff they sell in the supermarkets, where did you get it...
Murch	That's a military project... but nowadays you can find Chinese copies of everything, on the web!
Sarah	Why do you have it?!
Murch	Well... I have a friend whose wife was checking him with a GPS data-logger... Using that he's been able to trick her, avoiding an economically fatal divorce...
Sarah	I confirm: you watched too many 007! (She puts again the boxes in the bag)
Murch	Not him... After not even a month he has been caught red-handed, in his own home!
Sarah	Idiot!
Murch	Yeah... I've also brought a bug detector, a metal detector, and some bugs, audio and video...
Sarah	You're a collector of strange things...
Murch	(Suddenly raises the eyebrow for a moment, to confirm, while driving) "Strange" is a very relative concept...
Sarah	OK, now you can take the highway. Let's go back "home".

After some time, John, Kyle, and the other two men are back.
John	Does it happen often?
Kyle	Yes, they always try to locate our bases.
John	I was thinking something... We should find a way to divert their attention, to bring them somewhere else when they arrive...
Phil	Yes... but how?
John	We should place, not so far from here, some weapons which should self activate when HKs approach, to attract them there. It should be something small, and we should put them in some fake-bases, so that, arriving there, they would think we were there and we just left.
Kyle	So, our friend has a brain! If they realize the weapons are firing nowhere they will understand...
Phil	Well, we can connect them to some kind of sensors, or something... I understand nothing about that, but I figure he could do that (pointing John).
John	(Has the expression of someone who's just had an inspiration) The chips!
Phil	What?
John	Why didn't I think about them before. We can reprogram the chips and use them to control the anti-aircraft artillery!
Kyle	(Looks at John thoughtful for some seconds) Come with me one moment...
John follows him so they can talk privately.
Kyle	I don't know you, but I see you know what you do. I wanna trust you, but you have to keep the secret. Follow me!
John nods a yes and follows him.
They arrive to an armored door, at the end of a not so lightful tunnel. Kyle knocks.
Above the door there is a camera.
The door unlocks.
Kyle	(To John) Wait here.
Kyle enters and closes the door after him.
Outside the door, John is thoughtful.
He keeps watching outside through a fissure in the wall, looking high, over the horizon.
He's somehow satisfied, and a bit more serene.

Sarah and Murch are going back to the mountain with their auto. It's late afternoon.
Sarah seems to have heard something strange, but doesn't do anything more.
They arrive to the bunker, which is already open. Ellison is already inside.
They get out of the car, inside the bunker, then begin to unload the car.
Ellison and Murch continue to take stuff out of the car.
From the entrance of the bunker, very quietly, the drone enters, flying close to the ground.
The drone is seen from, in the darkness. Ellison and Murch are a few meters ahead it, and continue undisturbed.
Sarah is at the entrance of the mountain, closes the rapid shutter.
She quickly reaches the drone, and opens fire with an AK-47.
Ellison and Murch hear and see all, they see the drone, which flies looking for an escape.
The bullets don't damage it, but it's like crazy, nervous.
Ellison starts firing too, while Murch tries to take refuge.
Murch goes towards the jeep, staying down not to be hit by the drone who's flying wildly.
Murch goes in the car.
The drone lands and turns off, still.
Sarah and Ellison watch one another, then watch Murch.
Murch	It's too small for someone to be inside, I thought it was radio controlled. The jammer worked.
Sarah	Radio controlled! What's the range?
Murch	I don't know, however not too much. Since it was working inside here, where we're shielded by the mountain, I would say at most 100m {328ft}.
Sarah	In 20 seconds turn off the jammer and keep shooting, but don't damage it.
Ellison	Where...
Sarah exits by a small armored lateral door, with a rifle and binoculars.
Murch switches the jammer off. After a few seconds the drone reactivates and lift off again.
They begin shooting, including Murch with a Glock 17, but with much less effort and not hitting him..
Sarah is outside, well hidden, watching with the night vision binoculars.
She switches the image to thermal vision. Now she sees a van with at least a man, at the wheel.

John is waiting outside the door, pensive.
In a little time the door opens and Kyle exits.
Kyle	Hellak authorized us to let you know, but remember: everything you see must remain secret! Now go inside, I've well spoken about you.
John enters, still thoughtful.
Inside there are various equipments, computers, and various pieces of Terminators. Many chips.
At the end of the small room, at a desk, there's a woman, seen from her back, working on a computer.
She wears a White lab coat, and has some long copper hair.
She's sitting on a tall stool with wells, but backless.
John	Hallo, Kyle Reese told me to enter.
She raises a finger to tell him to wait.
She keeps typing while an arm from a Terminator, vertically positioned on the desk, moves its fingers.
John is silent and keeps looking around curiously.
She's seen laterally now, and she's always at the computer.
She is about 25, wears some small glasses and has a couple of small tools in the pocket of her lab coat.
Woman	(While still typing something) So, they told me you are the man with many ideas and many resources.
John	Well, that's what they say... I try to make myself useful, and I have an idea. And you, what do you do here, exactly: they didn't tell me anything about.
Woman	"Know the enemy!"

Woman	I'm studying a way to reprogram the chips, with Rudolf. How can you look the same after so many years?

She remains pensive for some seconds, with a blank face.
Woman	OK, I'll' trust you... You saved my life when I was young...

Woman	It must have been in my DNA... I began to be interested in Hi-tech a few after my mother disappeared... I thought it could have helped me to understand...
She remains silent, pensive, for a few seconds.
Woman	(She stares at him anxiously) You know where my mother is, you were with her when she left!

Woman	How can you be still so young?
John	I can't explain now, it is...
Woman	(She suddenly looks at him, amazed, wide open eyes) You worked it out, you did it!

John	I already developed my procedure, time ago, if I could have a computer and an interface, I could continue on my way, then we could compare methods and results...
She thinks about for some seconds.
Woman	OK, take this (giving him a laptop) and this interface. I can't give you the software we developed, but if you want to work on your own, I'll give you what you need. For what I've heard, you're good, so why should I risk to lose a valid help?!
John	OK, thank you. I'll take a chip too (taking one from the table).
Woman	I'll tell Rudolf you have interesting theories and I gave you the armored room here abreast, so you can work in peace. You will not be allowed to enter here without my authorization, it will be closed!
John	Don't worry, I don't need to come here. Thank you!

He doesn't answer, she punches him some more times, on the stomach and the face.
Murch	Hey, what...
Sarah	Shut up you, go away!
Murch goes away.
Sarah	I know you work for Kaliba, I saw the videos.

Man	You can't do this, no... (he begins to be scared)

She gives a malignant look, sideways, to Murch.

John is in his new room, at the computer, with all the equipments connected and a chip in the interface.
He's using a software like the one he already used for Vick's chip.
He's tired, shakes his head to avoid to nod off.
He closes the screen of the laptop and goes outside his room, closing the heavy door on his back.

John is around in the tunnels, with no real purpose... just taking some cool air.
Derek sees him and approaches him.
Derek	Hey guy, where have you been, it's some days no one sees you.
John	I've been busy... how is it going around?
Derek	Yes, my brother mentioned me something... Should I expect, in some weeks, to have to put on the attention when I meet you?
John	(Smiling) Weren't this kind of things for regular armies?!

Allison passes, smiling to both, though she's mainly looking at John.
He gives her a hint of greeting and lowers his look.

Ellison	(Checks the man at the neck) He is dead.
